I’ve been having trouble with the heat in my Mokka Electric. The input and output pipes going to the heater core are warm, but not hot, and while there’s some heat in the car, it’s nowhere near what it should be. If the heater core were fully blocked, I’d expect no heat at all and a cold outlet pipe, so I’m starting to think the issue might be with the thermostat not opening and closing properly.

The garage I went to insists it’s a heater core problem without even checking under the bonnet, which doesn’t give me much confidence. Has anyone experienced a similar issue, or have any advice on whether it’s more likely the thermostat? Any tips would be much appreciated!

Try taking off the radiator cap while the engine is running. Look for air bubbles in the coolant. Don't drive the car while the cap is off.
